Ants

Ants

There are several different types of ants that enter homes and since they are extremely small it is difficult to keep them out. Some common species we see are fire, rover, crazy, ghost and carpenter ants. Ants are insects with a thin middle, bent antennas, and bodies split into three parts: head, middle, and bottom. They have a hard outside covering called an exoskeleton. Antennas help them sense things around them and communicate with other ants. They live in groups called colonies, led by a queen, with worker ants doing most of the tasks like finding food and building nests. They can contaminate food by crawling on it, additionally, some people may experience allergic reactions to ant bites or stings when fire ants are involved.
