Termites
Termites are known as the "silent destroyers" because they can cause significant damage to your home without being noticed. In Texas there are as many as 20 termite colonies per acre of land. These tiny insects feed on wood, and if left untreated, they can weaken structural supports, walls, and floors, leading to costly repairs. It is important to be aware of the signs of a termite infestation. We recommend getting an annual termite evaluation from a professional. It is important to be aware of the signs of a termite infestation. These signs can include but are not limited to.
- Swarms of flying termites or discarded wings inside the home
- Mud tubes around the foundation or on walls, pipes, and other surfaces
- Hollow-sounding wood or wood that appears to be water-damaged with mud tubes
- Small holes in wood with what looks like poppy seeds underneath them
As part of the initial visit and maintenance program, we keep an eye out for these signs as well as conducive conditions for termites. However, if you want an in-depth analysis of your home we offer termite evaluations for subterranean termites since this is our area of expertise. If subterranean termites are found upon inspection, we are happy to provide an estimate and perform the treatment with the latest liquid barrier solutions available. If a preventative treatment is desired we are happy to perform that as well.
